A fresh set of curated Sudoku puzzles every month — compete globally, earn badges, and dominate the monthly leaderboard.
The Monthly Challenge feature is currently in development. While you wait, try the Daily Challenge or Weekly Challenge to keep your skills sharp.
The MySudokuWorld Monthly Challenge will be a curated, month-long competitive event where players from around the world tackle the same set of specially selected Sudoku puzzles. At the start of each calendar month, a new set of 5–10 puzzles spanning a range of difficulties — from Medium to Expert — will be released. Every registered player can attempt each puzzle as many times as they wish, with their best score for each puzzle counting toward their monthly total.
The Monthly Challenge is designed to be accessible to all skill levels while still rewarding expertise. Easier puzzles within the set contribute foundational points that any player can earn, while the harder puzzles — requiring advanced techniques like X-Wing, Coloring, or XY-Wing — provide bonus points that separate the top-tier competitors. A dedicated Monthly Challenge leaderboard will show rankings in real time, updated with each new puzzle submission.
At the end of each month, top finishers on the global leaderboard will earn exclusive Monthly Champion badges, profile achievements, and XP bonuses. Monthly champions will be permanently recorded in a Hall of Fame, visible on their public profile. Special seasonal variants (e.g., a Halloween-themed October set, a New Year challenge in January) will add thematic flavor to certain months.
Monthly scoring will combine multiple factors to produce a fair and competitive ranking. Raw solve time is the primary factor — faster solves earn more points for the same puzzle. However, time is adjusted by difficulty multiplier: Expert-rated puzzles will have a higher base point value than Medium puzzles, ensuring that hard-puzzle specialists are properly rewarded.
Accuracy will also play a role — puzzles completed without any incorrect placements receive an accuracy bonus. Players who use hints will not be disqualified, but hint usage will affect the score calculation. This balanced scoring system ensures that methodical, hint-free solvers are rewarded alongside pure speed-solvers.
Faster solutions earn more base points on each puzzle.
No incorrect placements earns a bonus multiplier.
Expert puzzles are worth significantly more than Medium.
The Monthly Challenge will include Medium through Expert puzzles, so strong performance requires familiarity with techniques beyond basic Naked and Hidden Singles. Here is how to prepare now:
All 20 Academy lessons cover the techniques needed for Medium through Expert puzzles. Lessons 6–15 are particularly relevant for Monthly Challenge performance — focus on Hidden Singles, Pointing Pairs, Naked/Hidden Pairs, and X-Wing.
The Daily Challenge simulates competitive solving pressure. Building a daily solve habit trains both your technique fluency and your speed — both of which matter for Monthly Challenge scoring.
Spend sessions in Practice Mode specifically hunting for the techniques that appear on Hard and Expert puzzles. Deliberate technique-focused practice builds pattern recognition faster than general solving.
When Monthly Challenge launches, review what difficulty levels the top-ranked players are solving and how fast. This gives you concrete targets to aim for in your practice sessions.

Absolutely. The puzzle set will include Medium-difficulty puzzles that beginners and intermediate solvers can complete. While the top leaderboard positions will be contested by advanced solvers, every player can earn points and track their monthly improvement.
The planned format is 5–10 puzzles per month, released either all at once on the first of the month or staggered weekly. The final format will be announced closer to launch.
Monthly Champion badges are exclusive profile achievements awarded to the top finishers on the global Monthly Challenge leaderboard at the end of each month. They are permanent, visible on your public profile, and will be limited to the top 10 or 100 players (depending on participation).
