A new set of competitive Sudoku puzzles every Monday — 7 days to post your best scores and climb the weekly leaderboard.
The Weekly Challenge is currently in development. In the meantime, the Daily Challenge updates every day with a fresh competitive puzzle.
The MySudokuWorld Weekly Challenge is a 7-day competitive event where players worldwide tackle the same curated set of Sudoku puzzles. Released every Monday at midnight UTC, the weekly set contains 3–5 puzzles ranging in difficulty from Medium to Expert. You have the full week — until Sunday at 23:59 UTC — to submit your best solve times on each puzzle.
Unlike the Daily Challenge, where the pressure is to solve one puzzle as fast as possible in a single session, the Weekly Challenge rewards strategic thinking across multiple days. You can attempt each puzzle multiple times and only your best performance counts toward your weekly score. This structure allows you to apply lessons learned from earlier attempts, look up the relevant technique in the Academy, and return with improved understanding to post a better result.
At the end of each week, the leaderboard resets and the top performers receive Weekly Champion badges and XP bonuses. Your weekly performance is also tracked over time, so you can see how your ranking and solve times improve week over week — one of the most motivating forms of feedback for Sudoku improvement.
Daily puzzles are great for habit-building, but they can be stressful — you have exactly 24 hours and typically one attempt that matters. The Weekly Challenge offers a more relaxed competitive rhythm. Seven days gives you enough time to encounter and understand the techniques required, practice them if needed, and return for a improved attempt. This structure is especially valuable for intermediate solvers working on techniques like X-Wing or Coloring that require some study time between first encounter and fluent application.
The weekly format also pairs naturally with the Academy curriculum. If you complete the X-Wing lesson on Monday and encounter an X-Wing in that week's challenge, you can immediately apply your new knowledge in a competitive context. This rapid theory-to-competition loop is one of the most effective ways to make new techniques stick.
Medium-to-Expert weekly puzzles require techniques from Academy Lessons 6–20. Hidden Singles, Pointing Pairs, and Naked Pairs are the most commonly needed on Medium and Hard puzzles.
Weekly Challenge scoring considers solve time. Use the Daily Challenge and Time Attack mode to build comfort solving with a timer running.
After each attempt on a weekly puzzle, review where you slowed down or made errors. Use the next attempt to implement what you learned.
The AI Coach explains techniques on real puzzle boards. If a weekly puzzle requires a technique you have not mastered, use the AI Coach to learn it before your next attempt.
Weekly Challenges will reset every Monday at midnight UTC. A new set of puzzles becomes available at that time, and all scores from the previous week are locked for the leaderboard calculation.
Multiple attempts are allowed and encouraged — only your best performance per puzzle counts toward your weekly score. There is no penalty for attempting a puzzle and posting a slower time on a later attempt.
Yes. All players worldwide see the same puzzle set each week, ensuring a fair and comparable competitive experience. Scores are normalized for timezone so late-week attempts are not disadvantaged.
Weekly Challenge will be free for all registered MySudokuWorld users. No premium subscription is required to enter, compete, or appear on the weekly leaderboard.
Weekly rewards include XP bonuses, exclusive Weekly Champion profile badges (for top finishers), and leaderboard recognition. High weekly finishers may also qualify for Monthly Challenge bonus points when that feature launches.
The Daily Challenge gives you competitive Sudoku every single day.
